lip filler amount for thin lips: start small

How much filler should I get for the first time? Some clinics recommend 1ml, others say 0.5ml is plenty. I have naturally thin lips.

Start with 0.5ml. Seriously. You'll still see a nice difference but it won't look overdone. You can always add more later if you want. 1ml on thin lips can look unnatural and even cause migration above the lip line. Easy does it for round one.

I wish someone had forced me to start with 0.5ml. My first injector convinced me that 1ml was 'standard' because she wanted the sale. Result: I got that horrible mustache shadow from filler migrating upward. Had to get it dissolved (painful and expensive) and start over. When I researched best lip augmentation method for thin lips, every experienced tech said the same thing: build gradually. Second time I did 0.5ml, waited 6 weeks, then added another 0.3ml. My lips look full but natural and no migration. It's not a race. Take your time.
